Hi,

Today I was playing a game in steam mode and everything worked fine without any error. This evening I wanted to play but it seems like my steam is down. I don’t know what happened with my steam, I didn’t make any changes. I don’t know how to fix and I don’t want to break it more than it is at this moment, so can anyone help me to fix this and tell me why I have this error today ?

Thanks !

To fix this problem  reset the ClienRegisty.blob. To do that follow these steps”

  • Windows XP/Vista/Windows7

1. Exit from the Steam Client.

2. Go to: C:Program FilesSteam.

3. Locate “ClentRegistry.blob” & rename this file to “ClientRegistryOld.blob”.

4. Restart Steam.

5. Test the problem again.

  • Mac OSX

1. Exit from the Steam Client.

2. Go to : /Users/[Username]/Library/Application Support/Steam

3. Locate “ClentRegistry.blob” rename this file to “ClientRegistryOld.blob”.

4. Restart Steam.

After that if your problem persist, you need to change security setting for Steam.

  • Widows XP

1. Open your browser and go to “Tools”>> “Folder Option”>> “View”.

2. Uncheck “Use simple file sharing” option.

3. Click on “Apply” button.

4.  Navigate the folder holding Steam installation. By default this is “C:Program files”.

5.  Right-click on the “Steam” folder.

6. Select “Sharing and Security” button >> Click on the “Security” tab.

7. Grant all users full control of the Steam folder, files & subfolders.

8.       Restart Steam.

  • Windows Vista

1. Navigate the folder holding Steam installation.

2. Right click on the “Steam” folder.

3. Select “Sharing and Security” and click on “Security” tab.

4. Restart Steam.

If above solution fail to solve your issue, you have to need to reformat your hard drive, reinstall your operation system as well as re-install Steam.

After that I am sure you will not face any problem.
