I need some help on starting out my new Spartan SP601 Eval board run on Win7 PC. I did go through the procedure of comprehending it step by step. I carried out all the preliminary diagnostic test demos and all the tests went okay and all functioning well. Subsequently I set up the Base System Reference design program, linked the Ethernet cable etc. On the board, placed the board on SPI configuration mode through switching M0= "ON" and M1= "OFF" on SW2.

Executed the program and it was operating well till I arrived at the phase of 'Selecting a Network Application'. It is also mentioned that I require picking a network interface and while I accomplish that, there is a fault and the application shuts itself. Does it have something done with the network controller?

Arrived at the phase of Selecting a Network Application

What up Chermaine,

The main issue here in your query is with your application. There are basically some files that you may not have added to the registry or are corrupt! What you need to do to solve this problem is;

The device may not be supported you need to ensure it is supported.

You can go to the registry and change some of the settings in it;

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE_SoftwareXilisoftSpartaSP601

HKEY LOCAL MACHINE Software Xilisoft SpartaSP601

In that folder you can register the files that have not been added to the registry or either delete files that are not required. You can also uninstall the software and reinstall again by going to My Computer > Local disk C: > Windows > Temp > Xilinx > Spartan and delete the files there and ensure the folder is empty.

Can also uninstall the Spartan10 software and reinstall again

When you restart the program and try rerunning it should be resolved.

I hope this solves your query.

Thanks.
