Hello, Everyone!

I am trying to download the Sony Vegas Pro 10.0 on my laptop.

I keep getting an error message saying that I need Windows XP Service Pack 3.

I already have this!

Why am I getting this?  Is it possible something is wrong with my operating system?

Has anyone else had this problem?

I appreciate any help I get!

Vegas Pro 10.0 Error

This software requires that you have Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 3, Windows Vista Service Pack 2, or Windows 7 installed.

Please update your operating system and try again.

Yes you have Windows Service pack 3 installed in your system, but the reason why you are getting this error message is because there are some components in your operating system that you will still need to update.

Please run the Windows Update on your computer, after all the updates are finished download Sony Vegas Pro 10.0 again and install it.

Follow this steps on how to update your Windows Service Pack 3 OS

1. Click the start button

2. Click on Control Panel

3. Click on security center

4. Please click on the option "Automatic (Recommended)"

5. Click on OK after you put a mark on the "Automatic (recommended) option to save your changes.

So you won't have to experience this error again in the future please keep your Automatic Updates turned on to make sure that you always have the most updated version of your operating system.

Additional tips:

After you have updated your operating system, you might want to uninstall the Sony Vegas Pro 10.0 and reboot your system to complete the uninstalling process and for the updates to take effect.  After rebooting your computer download Vegas Pro again and install.

Maybe you have the unofficial version and non stable version of service pack 3 that's why you're getting that error.

Solution 1:

Install a service pack 2 in your computer and then update the operating system to service pack. It will give you more stability than doing it this way. And you will identify at least that what you are installing is a good one.

Solution 2:

Try upgrading to a much later version of operating system. Possibly windows 7, it is stable and also has a lot of software support, it is a sure okay after you installed the Sony vegas pro in this operating system.
