When trying to enter my username and password and then attempting to sign in on my email account, a notice is appearing stating that someone is already using the same email address. What should I do to fix it?

Are you only trying to register for a new account or trying to login to a certain email provider? If you are trying to sign up for a new account, it will be better if you would contact the customer service hotline of a certain email provider and check if there are other options because they can provide recommendations what are the available ID or email address which is perfect for you to have.

If you already have an existing email address and that shows on the login page, that doesn't mean that somebody used it, it only means that whenever you sign out and don't delete the history on your computer, it is being captured by your computer which is usually called cookies or temporary internet files.

Does it say that the same user is logged in from another location? It is possible that you logged in on another workstation or on another device and you forgot to logout. Some accounts only permit a single login, if there are multiple instances of one username logged in using different IP addresses or different MAC addresses, then the server will tell you about this and log off the other machine where you were also logged in.

This is a security measure. If you have not used another machine though, then it is likely that your account has been compromised. Change your credentials immediately and inform your service provider.

I do not think that is possible because only one person can have a single email address. I have never had a case of conflicting email addresses before, unless you are creating an account whereby the email address that you are specifying to be using is already in use by somebody else and thus it cannot be allocated to you.

But in case you are in a organization where you use internal email addresses, then it may be possible that the criteria with which email address are allocated led to a conflict between your email address and somebody else's.

For instance if they use the first name initial and the last name, somebody could be having exact names as yours, and therefore leading to their email address looking like yours, and in that case you will need to contact the administrator responsible for allocating the email addresses to solve the issue.

Clair June,

Thank you for your solution. I left my account logged in my iPhone, after I log out my email account, I can successfully use my email account in my laptop.

Thanks,
