Hi there.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 Smartphone which started loosing screen sensitivity, when I get a call when the screen is off, the slider to receive the call won't move, if I try switching off the screen, it will go off and come on but still the slider won't respond until the call is terminated. The other buttons on the screen are okay (Back, Home, Menu) what could be the problem? How do I solve this one?

Hi !

The problem with your touch screen it might be that your phone have one or more viruses. Run an antivirus on your phone to see if it is clean. Another solution would be that you have to recalibrate your touch screen settings, if it doesn't work with recalibration set the phone to the factory settings. Last solution would be that you have to go with your phone with warranty certificate to repair it or reinstall you Android soft.

The slider that appears on the screen of any Smartphone is not part of the device physically. It is an interface on the screen provided by the operating system or the firmware of the phone. If this virtual interface is not functioning correctly then the problem is with the firmware since there is no button that connects to the slider physically.

Your best option on fixing the problem with the slider is to factory reset your phone. To perform a factory reset on your Samsung Galaxy S4, first, turn off your phone. When the phone is completely off, press and hold the Volume Up, Home, and Power buttons simultaneously until the Samsung Galaxy logo appears. When the logo appears, release the Power button but continue holding the other keys.

When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release all buttons. To navigate between the options, press the Volume Up/Down buttons. To select or Enter, press the Power button. Now, go to “wipe data/factory reset”, “Yes — delete all user data” then “reboot system now”. And that’s it.

Before doing this, back up all important files to your memory card then remove the memory card and SIM card from the phone before doing the actual reset.
