SharePoint Connection Error Cannot connect to the SharePoint

Hi,

While working in SharePoint project when I try to connect to a light switch I got this error message. This means the installation was not good; do I need to reinstall it again? I am just a beginner please help me to get rid of this error. Your help is great. Thanks.

Cannot connect to the SharePoint

http://——–sharepoint .com/developersite/. Make sure that the Site URL is valid and that the current user has the necessary permissions to access the site.

Additional information:

‘The specified command ID

Microsoft.VisualStudio.SharePoint.Commands.ValidateSite’ does not match any available SharePoint remote commands

Parameter name command ID.

This error occurs due to the frequently causes which are:

The Network Connectivity Problem 

The SQL database is not running

To resolve this issue you have to perform some steps:

1 Verify the SQL database is running properly by locating the MSSQLSERVER from the Administrative Tools. 

2 Verify the Connectivity of the Internet and check that there is no SQL client aliases.
