I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 and set my unlock feature into a pattern. But I'm having trouble with this since I've forgotten my unlock pattern. When I've tried a several times using incorrect patterns, the phones turn into a time lock. Is there anyway to unlock this?

Hello Matthew,

The following steps will be helpful for you to unlock your phone:

  • You will need to get the IMEI for your phone number by typing *#06# into your keypad. A screen that has the code will appear. Note the code somewhere.
  • You will have to contact your network provider and then request for an unlock code. There may be cases where the network provider cannot give the unlock code until you have had some time with them, for instance 6 to 12 months. In such a situation, you can get the code the unlocking website.
  • You can obtain the unlock code over the phone, or you can as well get it from the email that you receive from the unlocking website.
  • After that you will need to enter a SIM Card a different network, and then power your phone on.
  • You will be prompted for the unlock code.
  • Enter the unlock code into the phone device and your phone will be unlocked.
Enter the unlock code into the phone device and your phone will be unlocked.

Regards,

Carl

Matthew,

You need to do factory reset of your phone. For that you need to know the password of your phone's factory reset settings. Here are the steps.

1. Turn off your phone.

2. Hold the volume up key, home key and power on key, all at the same time.

3. Select reset to default and reboot your phone.

4. After booting, call your mobile number from any other mobile. Answer that call.

5. While the call is active, press the back key which will take you to the home screen.

6. Open Settings > Privacy > Factory Data Reset.

7. Ok

This will reset your phone and your lock pattern will be removed. Now again you can apply unlocking patterns or pins to lock your phone, but this time make sure you remember your password.
