You are in a bit of tricky situation here.

Your windows system is damaged and it can happen because of lots of reason like file system error, encryption faults and others.

But you have some important data on the system disk and want to get it as soon as possible, and you can get it.

There are two ways I can think of:

  1. If you can get a bootable Linux system CD/DVD, you can use it to access the data. Most of the Linux/ Unix system can access windows file systems
  2. Another option would be to get that drive out of its system and attach it to some other windows system with SATA to USB adapter, and get the files you want.

I wouldn't advise you to use windows rescue disk unless you know your way around it well.
