When I opened my PC, I entered the password to login into my PC. But it gave incorrect password error. My sibling had changed the password without telling me, and I had no idea. Due to multiple trials to login into my account, Windows 7 user locked out. What should I do?

Yeah, this happens when you keep trying again and again. Do consult with others about the password instead of retrying this many times. To unlock the user account, follow these steps; remember that it is applicable only if you have not locked the administrator account.

  1. Login trough administrator account and open the ‘Local Users and Groups’ manager.
  2. In the left pane, click on ‘Users.’
  3. Then on the right side, select the name of the account that is locked
  4. A new tab opens. Uncheck the box for ‘Account is locked out’ and then select ‘OK.’

After this, the account will unlock.
