Reinstallation trouble of 2007 Microsoft office system

I had to reformat my laptop because of a malware attack. During the reinstallation process, I had trouble reinstalling programs. I was trying to activate my 2007 Microsoft office system using the backup copy, but when I had entered the product key, the prompt said "Invalid product". What could be the problem with my 2007 Microsoft office system and what can I do about it?

Greetings,

It's unfortunate that you are unable to make use of your MS Office product key. I can think of a few possibilities for this issue.

Make sure that you have the valid key and you are typing it correctly. It is the which can be found on the Certificate of Authenticity, or at the back of the CD case, on a sticker.

There may be multiple instances of MS Office. Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > click Run.

Type in appwiz.cpl, hit OK. If there is another Office Suite, Office Activation Assistance or a trial version, uninstall it.

If all else fail, contact Microsoft Support. North American residents can call 1-800-642-767.

1. You should verify that the product key is valid and then retype it.

2. Check the numbers and letters of the product which locate on the product original CD

3. Make sure that you typed the letters and numbers of the product correctly the same as the product key.

4. Or try to find another valid key product or contact the customer service of the product to give you another valid key.

Hi,

The problems incurred when reinstalling and/or installing a software are:

  1. Mistype product key
  2. Wrong product key use (maybe for other products)
  3. Multiple installation of product in your unit

If none of the above is the problem, you need to contact a Microsoft customer service.

You mentioned that you are using a backup copy in re-installation of the product. You may download a backup copy on Microsoft Download Site. Be sure you are ready with the right product key as this will be asked before you will be routed to the download site.
