last month i purchase a fujitsu laptop (intel core i5) and my friend purchased a toshiba laptop (intel core i3) both laptos have same 1.3 mega pixel built in camera. but my fujitsu laptop camera quality is very bad, when i open that camera in skype the images looks very dark but toshiba camera clarity is very nice.

Hi Gilchrist, I have read the problem which you are facing and I thought could clarify you in this matter. So you bought a Fujitsu laptop with (i5 processor) and your friend bought Toshiba with (i3 processor). Now let me tell you that the processor has nothing to do with the quality of your webcam. The better processor you have the better will your system run. Now the main difference between the quality of your Fujitsu’s webcam and Toshiba’s webcam is that they are of two different companies. You are having tension about the quality variation and this is a common fact. Toshiba might have different parameter for 1.3 megapixel camera so does your Fujitsu’s laptop. So there can’t be similarity in the quality of both the laptops. Toshiba is definitely a renowned company and Fujitsu has not caught the market yet that much. So there is really nothing to compare between these two. When you are using Skype and the image is dark is just because of the quality of your webcam. You can adjust the contrast and brightness of your webcam. You have to press and hold the Fn key at the bottom left of your keyboard, and tap repeatedly the F7 key across the top until you reached desired brightness. If it is too bright, press and hold Fn, and tap the F6 repeatedly until you reach desired contrast/brightness.
Fujitsu comes with a webcam software package on it i.e"Cyberlink YouCam".If you already have this on your system then you can easily change the webcam's resolution and you can also integrate it with Skype for a better experience. And if you stick to chat in Skype, then you need to go sign in your Skype id and then click on "Tools" and from tools you need to select the "Options" tab. Then from the options tab you need to select "Video Settings”. There you can set your camera's resolution to have better quality and you can also take a snapshot of how your camera has changed after those settings. One more thing, if you are on windows 7, then please update your driver. I hope this will work!!!
