Hello,

I have been using the Reaper software for basic audio production on Windows 7. During the last few days I have been getting an error as shown below whenever I launch the application.

Renoise Failed to initialize the plugin ‘VST: IK Multimedia: SampleTank2.x’

Other users are also experiencing the same problem with certain plug-ins of Reaper that sometimes work and sometimes doesn’t and all are running Microsoft Windows 7. I think the real issue is the operating system not the application. But anyway, if you are using the free demo version, you should check first if your trial period is not yet expired.

I’m not sure if older versions are also the same but the latest release has up to 60 days of trial period that offers full functionality. If you are using one of the older versions that has 30 days then it may be expired. If it is already expired then you can either uninstall it or replace it with the latest version because reinstalling it doesn’t guarantee that it’ll still work.

If you want to download the latest release, visit Reaper Digital Audio Workstation. Reaper 4.54 works with Windows 98, Windows Millennium, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, and Mac OS X 10.4 up to 10.8 for the 32-bit version. For 64-bit, it supports Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, and Mac OS X 10.5 until 10.8.

You may also try other plug-ins like ReaPlugs VST v2.1. To download, visit ReaPlugs VST FX Suite.
