Hey there, there are three things you could do right now:

1. Check if you are running it as administrator. You might have been logged in as the admin, run it explicitly.

2. You can switch to a different port of USB on your laptop/desktop/PC. It works most of the time.

3. This error also arises when you are using a defective card reader. If that is the case, or even if you are not sure, just try using the different card reader. It must fix your problem.

Hope that helps!

If you installed it successfully but it doesn’t work properly, one possible reason is incorrect version. It is possible that the version you downloaded is not compatible with your operating system. The Win32 Disk Imager application is designed to write disc images like ISO files to USB flash drives and SD/CF cards. The tool supports Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8.x, and Windows 10.

Though the said operating systems are supported, the latest version of Win32 Disk Imager doesn’t work properly with several of these platforms. For users with Windows XP and Windows Vista, you need to download and use the Win32 Disk Imager v0.9 version of the tool. For Windows 7, Windows 8.x, and Windows 10, download and use the latest version of Win32 Disk Imager.

Win32 Disk Imager is also compatible with Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2012, and Windows Server 2016 but not tested.
