Hello,

We are facing a problem here with Lotus notes 8.5.1. It was my duty to provide the best service to my company and my company’s clients.

But here we get an error message which could be resolved this way. First, is to resolve by shutting down the client, deleting the workspace folder under the data directory, and then restart the client.

It resolves the error then. But this time it’s different. We can’t identify the root cause of this problem.

We have a backup option to save all the details of our clients. It works fine. Our clients are happy about this. But the worst thing comes up when the apps being copied by the network and the notes client launches trying to access the files.

Here is the screenshot of the error message –

Hi Arnel! The problem is when you access your mailbox client on Lotus Notes Standard Edition 8.5.1 with FP5 installed, it automatically shows an error which you posted in the forum.

There is only one reason why this is happening, when there are too much or multiple XML files defined in the application. Fortunately there is a workaround, in order for you to eliminate that error from recurring, you need to delete the following folders:

…NotesDataworkspace.metadata..pluginscom.ibm.portal.app

…NotesDataworkspace.metadata.pluginscom.ibm.rcp.portal.app

To find the specific folder you just have to copy paste this to the search bar which is located at the start button.

Then once you have deleted these folders, you will have to restart the Lotus Notes client.

And you will notice that the error is gone and you may proceed from using your Notes without any error message interfering with your work.

Another way is to reinstall your Lotus Notes Client but if the error message shows up again then you just go back to deleting the folders which was mentioned earlier.

I hope this helped you solve your problem.
