Problem in Creating a Backup for iPod Touch in iTunes

Help, I have an iPod Touch which I regularly use with my Windows XP desktop.

I often create backups in case anything happens.

But when I tried it this morning, this message appeared:

iTunes could not back up the iPhone "Apple" because the backup could not be saved on the computer.

I tried it several times, even restarting both devices yet the error still appeared.

I didn't do anything out of the ordinary so I'm puzzled as to why this happened.

Hope you guys can help me out.

Tricky solution here, try manually deleting your recent pictures and videos then run back up again.

If not solved, you have to delete your previous backups here C:UsersUSERNAMEAppDataRoamingApple ComputerMobileSyncbackup.

Then try running backup again.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

Things to keep in mind:

  • You should be the administrator of the computer you are using. This is a common problem with iTunes.
  • If you have iCloud, you have to turn of the iCloud back up option to make this work.
  • Try to restart both the computer and the iDevice. Open iTunes and check if it works this time.
  • If all these fail, there is a corrupted file that prevents you from doing a backup. You have to delete your most recent backup from your iTunes. But just before you do that, backup your file to an external drive. To delete your backup, go the Edit tab then tick Preferences, then Devices. You should see your most recent backup there.
