Problem converting using Xilisoft Video Converter

Hi all!

From a link provided by the PapaJohn, I have downloaded Windows Live Movie Maker and it functioned well.

Now when I requested to add a video file to my project, it was performing nicely for several types of file but when an attempt to load an .M2TS, it failed and showed a film with a yellow triangle in them which have an exclamation point on them.

If I double click on the yellow icons, it says that the files are damaged or in a format that Movie Maker does not recognize. (I know for a fact that the file is not damaged, so why doesn't it recognize that file type?)

It gave me the error code 0xC946001C. I did a research on that code in Google and did not find anything. Please help me to get rid of it. M2TS files and convert them so I can use them properly in WMM.

Windows live movie maker supports only some video files WMV, ASF, MPG (MPEG-1), AVI (DV-AVI), WMA, WAV and MP3.

If you want to upload video in WLMM than it should be in one of the above formats. Else you have to convert your video file to the support file format. That is if you want to upload M2TS file in WLMM then that file should be converted from M2TS to WMV file format in order to upload the file.

To convert M2TS file to WMV you need a video converter software, for this download a free video converter and install it and then converting the file to your suitable format

After converting the M2TS file to WMV you can easily upload it to  WLMM.

You can now easily add video into your project.
