All my family members are using O2 mobile service and changing to another service provider will make the calls more expensive. Is there a way to swap to another network? I have tried this. But ended up receiving the error “Wrong Sim detected”. Can anyone help me out?

The only way to be able to access other sim cards on that device is to make the device universal, because right now it is restricted to only one service provider. Try the following and see if it will help:

  • First, you will need to download the following application: Download ifunbox software
  • After you have finished downloading the software, you will need to run it and then sync it with the device.
  • After that you will need to download a lockdown folder from the following site: gsmhosting
  • And then you will access the following directory path on your device /private/var/root/Library/ and there you will need to  delete original lockdown folder and then put the lockdown folder that you just downloaded.
  • After that you will restart the device.

You should after that be able to use any sim card on the device.
