Pro Tools start up error

Hi, I’m not sure if this is some sort of virus or just a program error, but I’m having trouble when I start up Pro Tools on my Mac OS X Snow Leopard (10.6). I just get this unusual error message saying:

“Bus error” in thread “MainThread”, at address 0xbfffb470.

If you have a suggestion on how to solve this please fire away.

Thanks in advance.

Hello there! An error like this is a common error in Mac. It is usually a permission issue. To fix this, you can use the Apple Disk Utility and then Repair Permissions. You should do this regularly. If this does not fix the issue, do a complete uninstallation of Leopard and Pro Tools. Delete your preferences and all Digdesign Databases on the attached drives. Then reinstall Leopard without anything else running in your computer. Update it and then reinstall Pro Tools, again without anything else running in your computer. I hope this one will work for you. Good luck to you!
