Firstly enter the command:>psconfig -cmd configdb -disconnect

OR running the sharepoint configuration wizard and disconnecting the sharepoint server

Before you uninstall the it

another option is by reinstalling the ISS and the uninstall Sharepoint from Add/Remove programs

(start>control panel>Add/Remove programs)

You are trying to uninstall SharePoint and you find that someone has removed IIS first.

You went on to Add/Remove programs and select uninstall for SharePoint but it fails with an error message “Error 1920.Service 'W3SVC' (W3SVC) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services”.

There is no IIS and it can’t start W3SVC without that. Reinstall IIS and then uninstall SharePoint from Add/Remove Programs.

I followed your instructions Heiley Paint. It worked! Just reinstall IIS and go to add/remove program to uninstall SharePoint.

Thank you very much.
