Hello, I have an issue with my HP printer, I am obtaining an error message when I try to scan from it via WiFi. It has worked lately so I think there are just some things I need to do somewhere. I can "ping" the appliance, it is seen in the Printer Device Manager and I can print a test page. This is usually occurs after it has been in sleep mode although I have powered it off and back on with no change. Please anyone who has encountered this issue?

Putting the printer to sleep might have caused the problem. Next time when you want to put it to sleep, turn it off instead to avoid having this issue again. Try reinstalling the printer’s driver including the applications that the installer installed on the computer when you installed the printer. Other applications are normally bundled with the printer software and they will all be included in the installation so you need to uninstall all bundled software.

Click Start, Control Panel, then remove all applications bundled with the printer software one at a time. If it is necessary to restart the machine then restart the computer and continue removing the rest of the applications. When all bundled applications are already removed, click Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and then click Disk Cleanup.

Select drive C then click OK. Check “Setup Log Files” and “Temporary files”, click OK then click Delete Files. Restart the computer again then install the printer software back. Before installing the printer software, make sure the printer is currently turned off before connecting it to the computer. See if this method works.
