Polac ASIO error Couldn’t locate FW-1082 driver

This problem is triggered when you uninstall the driver “fw-1082” and then you switch to Polac ASIO. It seems that even if you already uninstalled the old driver “fw-1082” and you are switching to the Polac ASIO driver, the application is still looking for the “fw-1082” driver. I’m not sure if it’s a bug because supposedly when you remove a driver the program should be able to delete all its references and switch to the other driver you selected.

But here, it seems that even if you already deleted the driver, it still keeps on looking for the same old driver which is already gone. If this is what’s happening in your program, open command prompt and type without quotes “regedit” and hit Enter. Search and delete all entries for the following:

  • fw1082
  • fw-1082
  • tascam

After this, type without quotes “exit” then hit Enter to close the command prompt and then restart your computer. Your program should be back to normal and you can now shift to the Polac ASIO driver.
