As the title say, I have a Blackberry 8800 mobile phone with tons of applications for it.

The only one that I could not find, is Skype.

Maybe I didn't search it where I was supposed to, but from what I know it is available for my phone.

Can you please help me to download and tell me how to install Skype on Blackberry 8800?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Michael,

The application you're referring to is probably iSkoot, as an actual Skype has not been released for the Blackberry 8800 to my knowledge. However, iSkoot does add Skype service onto your phone.

You will use your Skype login information, and the program is virtually the same.

Note: Long Distance charges may apply when using these types of programs on your phone, so be warned of this issue when using it. You should maintain your Skype contact's list with iSkoot as well.

This program should be what you're looking for.

I have provided a link below with information as well as a download link to this application for your Blackberry 8800.

I hope this solution was satisfactory!

If you have BlackBerry and you want to make audio and video calls using Skype, you need to have Skype installed on your phone. There are different ways how to get Skype on your BlackBerry. On your BlackBerry Smartphone, open the web browser then go to BlackBerry World. In BlackBerry World, select “apps” then type without quotes “skype” in the search bar then download the app.

You can also download Skyp10 for Skype. Unfortunately, the latest version of Skype no longer supports BlackBerry operating system but Android powered BlackBerry devices are not affected. Here are several of the platforms that Skype no longer supports:

  • Amazon Fire phone
  • Android 4.0.2 and lower
  • BlackBerry OS
  • iOS 7 and lower
  • OS X 10.8 and lower
  • Skype landline phones, cordless DECT phones, and analog telephone adapters (ATA)
  • Skype mobile for Verizon
  • Skype on 3
  • Skype on Telkomsel
  • Skype on TV
  • Symbian OS
