When you are getting MS Access error message subscript out of range, you need to take care of these two things –

Number 1

You can have a maximum of 255 columns in your Excel. If you have more than that, you have to change your Excel sheet.

Number 2

If you have conditional formatting or formulas in your Excel sheet, you have to convert it to plain text/ number, and then you will be able to import the file.

After following these restrictions, if you get the error message, follow these steps –

  1. Open the file.
  2. Go to the security warnings section.
  3. Click on Enable content.
  4. Go to the advanced options.
  5. For each of the macro, check the enable content for this session option.
  6. Click on ok.
  7. Restart Access.
  8. You will get rid of the error message.
