A blog is an assimilation of web and log. It is an informal online document written and compiled by a person or a group of people. The basic difference between microblogs and blog is the size of this document. Microblogs, as the name suggests are very small in size as compared to traditional blogs.
Microblogging websites generally have a character limit per every entry to ensure proper traffic on the network. Other options like attaching media and large files with your blog are also curbed in a few scenarios.
Technically, blogs are stored as documents or files on the server while, microblogs are merely database entries.
