Hello, my Pioneer AVH-P5900DVD is not allowing me to play any CD or DVD and has given me an error code, error-02-9e yesterday. I have tried checking up for any solutions in the internet but did not find any. What seems to be the problem with it and how do I fix it? It will be very helpful for me if you can give me any suggestions and/or solutions regarding this topic. Thanks.

Hi Mr. Jamesy,

I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems with Pioneer AVH-P5900DVD not allowing you to play any CD or DVDs.

I'm pretty sure that you've already tried rebooting or resetting the device but it didn't work. (if you haven't done so, please try it out first.)

The error "error- 02-9E" refers to a communication problem that is relative to your laser lens that "reads" the discs.

Make sure that the discs you are putting in are not filled with scratches.

You can go to any walmart or radioshack and try to purchase a lens cleaner (it is a disc that has a tiny microfiber cloth attached to it and it comes with a cleaning solution to clean of the grime and dirt on the lens).

Make sure that you buy something that's above A class so it does not "scratch" the lens.

If that still does not work I suggest that you have it serviced by the manufacturer and they might ask for a fee if in case it is already out of warranty.

Please take note that overextending the use of an equipment such as a dvd player would overheat the lens reader and will cause it not to read discs anymore.

I hope that helps!

Sincerely,

Paul Pinalb
