Why does the PDF not print the same size as the original? The document generates as a PDF with overlay correctly, but when printed is smaller than the original document. The document is landscape-OVRPRTF part (*90) Pagesize (51 132).

I hope here you mean slightly smaller, because this is a usual scenario. We may say in word what causes this is margins. A pdf document is supposed to be presented in the paper, this means they are mainly sized as if they are on paper and this tends to clash with words. This means the paper presented by word is usually 8.5 by 11 inches and what this means is that when it is typed it can be printed without a problem with most printers but in pdf it is the whole paper and most printers cannot print out a whole paper so the most logical thing to do is to print in a smaller font than usual.

This is the reason when you print out you pdf documents most it will seem smaller than the original.

Hi,

The printed page your pdf document may be coming out with a different size from what you see on your computer screen because you might have not specified the set up on the page on the printer dialog box under the properties. You should check to ensure that before you print you have specified the print set up on the page, like for instance if you want it to print in A4 or A5 ensure that those are the settings in the printer properties. But if you are printing an A4 document and the printer properties have been set to the LETTER, then printed document will definitely be smaller in terms of font and how it occupies the page.

Hope this helps.

Lee Hung.

Hello Anonymous,

A pleasant day to you. PDF does not print the same size as the original because of "margins". You may or you may never work around it depending on the capabilities of your printer and the PDF document. The problem is that most printers can't actually print on the entire sheet of paper. There's a margin around the outer edge that will vary depending on your printer.

To be able to print size as the original, just go to your PDF viewer as shown in the image below. You can see that the default is "Fit to Printable Area" and you can also see that the sum of 97% has been applied. Now, what I want you to do is change "Fit to Printable Area" into "None" and you'll see that the sum will reset to 100%. You can now try printing and PDF will be the same size as the original. I hope that this will help you solve your issue.
