When I try to install this software, suddenly I got an error message. I've re-extracted the file several times, and it's on the local hard drive. I have no idea why the word "Network" comes into play here…

The error message says, “Error 1316. A network error occurred while attempting to read from the file C:PROGRAM FILESJASC SOFTWARE INCSETUP FILESPaint Shop Pro 7.msi”

Paint Shop Pro 7 Installation Problem

Hello, Mario.

This error message has appeared very often while trying to reinstall/upgrade a software program. The word ''Network'' is here because the registry key for the software is corrupted and must be repaired.

To fix this problem try downloading Microsoft Windows Installer Cleanup Utility from https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/290301. It will remove the old software that can cause errors like this with new installations on your PC.

You should install Windows Installer CleanUp Utility. Go to Start – Programs – All Programs and open the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility.

Then, go to the Windows Installer Entry that the installation process is failing on. The name of the Windows Installer Entry that must be removed is displayed in the Error 1316 message on screen as well as in the Event Viewer.

You need to click Remove and wait a little. When it is removed, close the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility and Reboot your computer. Now, you are able to install the software correctly.

Hope that would work for you.
