I have always kept my Dell XP5 up to date. A month ago, I installed MS Office 2010 and it worked perfectly. After installing a system speed booster,

I can no longer use Outlook. When I tried reinstalling Office, It tells me that the setup detected Legacy Groove or MS Groove. I have already tried several removal tools to no avail. How do I get MS office back o my computer again?

Hi,

It was probably referring to Outlook’s groove. There are a number of possible ways to fix this since most likely there’s a Microsoft feature that has left traces.

  • There are a number of features you may want to check if it’s fully removed:
  • Send a Smile.
  • Microsoft Outlook Connector.
  • Microsoft Office 14 Single Image (This is usually a hidden file).

  • If you have a disk, you can also try just installing Groove off the disk (I’m talking about the Microsoft Office 2007, or whatever previous version installation disk you have). After that you can go to the Control Panel and uninstall the whole Microsoft office 2007 or whatever version you have.

As usual, you restart the computer and proceed to installing Microsoft 2010 and it should reinstall properly. Of these 2, I would suggest you try the 2nd one first. It’s easier.
