Notification on Windows 7 expiration

I'm quite confused.  My computer runs with Windows 7.  Recently, a notification popped up stating that in thirteen days my OS will expire.  When I clicked the notification, it told me to install a Win7 OS and make a back-up.

I then checked the system settings but it vanished.  According to the system settings, my OS is still activated.  How did this happen?  What should I click?

Hi user

As far I know there is no license period for Windows 7 or any version, it is valid for a lifetime. Therefore the message telling you that windows is going to expire is fake.

You are infected by a malware and now its asking you to back up your files so that the malware will be backed up with it. Then after reinstalling the windows the malware will have free reign as there will be no anti-virus.

This is a clever strategy for the malware. Do a full system scan with your anti-virus. If it fails to find anything then download and install Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. This is free and is good at detecting malware that most anti-virus fail to find.
