To resolve black screen issues after powering the computer on:

  • Remove any external devices like floppy disks, CDs or DVDs, external hard drive, flash drives, USB drives, memory cards that are attached to the computer.
  • Turn the system on without those external devices attached to it.
  • If the issue persists, turn the computer back off and then unplug all external peripherals like speakers, printers, scanners, camera, and others and just leave the basic peripherals attach to the system like the keyboard, the mouse, the monitor and the power supply.
  • Restart your computer in safe mode.
  • Scan your computer and make sure that any threats to the system are remove.
  • Check the master boot record and repair it.
