Good day! SPSS was created in 1968 by Norman H. Nie, C. Hadlai (Tex) Hull and Dale H. Bent, in order to computerize the process of turning data into useful information that could be acted upon. Shortly thereafter, it began to be commercialized by Nie and Hull at the University of Chicago the first Windows-compatible SPSS version was released in 1992. The version of SPSS current as of 2010 is IBM SPSS Statistics 18.
