Hello to all here. I need help on installing MS Excel. I want to setup MS Office XP without having to type the product key again and again. Let me clear the need. I have Office XP software. It seems boring to me to put the product key in every setup. Is there any trick to setup office without the product key? Please share it to help me. It will be great help for me as well as for others also.

  • Hello dear, you are right, this issue can be helpful for others too. There is a way to setup this software without typing the product key. For this you need to do some pre works. Let me describe you.
  • First copy the total software backup in your hard disk. Now go to the setup folder in this backup. In the setup folder, you can get the setup.ini file. Open this file with notepad. Notepad will be the preferable reader to open it. Now copy the line below and paste in this file.
  • PIDKEY=<product key without dashes> in option section>
  • [Options]
  • PIDKEY=********************
  • In the last line PIDKEY must be the product key of the software. This key will replace ********************. You can get the product key from the root folder or from the files/setup folder. Copy and paste the product key here. No hyphen or space is allowed in between the product key. Now save the file and close it. Now you can setup office without product key. I hope you can get my point and this will help you and others.

The solution for installing Microsoft Office without having to type the product key is as follows

Install Microsoft Office without the product key, proceed as follows:
1. Go In Windows Explorer menu, browse to C:Program Files Common Files Microsoft SharedOFFICE12Office Setup ControllerProof.en and then Right click on Proof.XML file, then Open it in the right click menu.Then In the Open window, select Notepad to open the XML file and Scroll down to the bottom of the Proof.XML to locate these lines

<feature Id="SetupXmlFiles" Cost="1248″><optionref Id=”AlwaysInstalled”/></feature>

And then Change the AlwaysInsalled to neverInstalled so that the line looks like following:
<optionref Id="neverInstalled"/>

Next Save the Proof.xml file in your system and you are no ready to launch and use Microsoft Office applications such as Ms Word,Ms Excel, Ms PowerPoint, Outlook and etc without prompting for activation
