I have a problem accessing mail from my phone. I am currently using a Nokia N97 and my attempts of connecting it to the exchange 2010 sp1 server are bearing no result. I have no clue at all as to why this is happening. I also have no idea what to put in the address field of the Exchange server. Please help.

The Nokia n97 does not need to download the exchange as it is pre-loaded with the mobile phone. There is no need to download it from the Nokia website. You can use the exchange to sync your inbox, contacts, tasks etc.

However, you will need to install a separate certificate of authority if your exchange server use the SSl instead of root trusted phenomena. This does not comes pre-loaded in the device.

Now start configuring your n97 for the exchange server.

  1. Open your messages.
  2. In the settings, select email settings.
  3. define the mailbox again. it will open a wizard for you.
  4. Select start and after that you will be asked to sign up for a Nokia ovi account. if you have your own email address you can use that one too.
  5. You will be asked to define the account type.
  6. After that select the exchange from the option and click select.
  7. Enter the username and domain after that.
  8. Enter the address.
  9. Select the internet type.
