My laptop’s touchpad has stopped working. It was working fine. I don’t think there is a problem with the hardware as my laptop didn’t fell anywhere or something like that. Can it be turned on or off by some button or using the control panel?

You might have stumbled upon the toggle button for the touchpad. It is common in most of the laptop’s to prevent jumping on the screen while typing. Look on the keyboard for a touchpad symbol on one of the function keys. Press it and see if the touchpad has started working or not.

If not then go to the control panel and look for input devices and in it find the touchpad and select default option. Get an external mouse (USB) to manage your work by the time. If after trying both the things your touchpad still does not work, then get your laptop checked by some hardware expert. Also in some cases, the touchpad toggle button is on the touchpad itself as a convex cavity.
