My PC freezes while playing games or browsing the internet

A few days ago, my computer started acting strange. I started playing some games, and suddenly the PC freezes while playing games or it freezes when I browse the internet. I used my antivirus to scan it and see if issues are found, but nothing. No files infected or damaged. I searched a bit online, but no useful answers. Can you guys tell me what can I do or how can I see what exactly the problem is and why my computer freezes while playing games or browsing? Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Wayne,

I faced this problem a while back, and it usually happens because of the space in your hard-drive.
If your system is filled up the brim and there is no space, then a process cannot run when you open something. This leads the computer to shut down.

To make sure this doesn't happen again, clear some space on C folder of your system. There are many ways to do this. You can either remove some of your installed files, and install it in another folder. You can even re-install the OS once in for all. Or try to clean prefetch and temp files in your system.

To do that, go to Start> RUN and type "Prefetch". A dialog box will appear, select all(CTRL+A) and Shift+Delete them.

Next, go to START again >RUN and type "%temp%". A dialog box will appear again, do the same thing given above, and clear the whole thing. This will clear some of the files on your C disk. This will make sure your computer works fast and doesn't get struck or shut down while doing something.

I hope this helps you out.

Regards,

Mccall.

Outdated video card drivers could leads to circumstances as yours and I'd strongly recommend to update it immediately. Besides freezing and slower performance, it could make your system to crash sometime or Blue Screen of Death (BSOD).

Also, double check the Games minimum requirement specs so that it doesn't require more memory to run properly.

Good Luck in Advance.
