Please follow any of the methods given below to solve your error.

  1. Restart your computer. This will help reset all the programs, and there is a chance that Outlook will run properly again
  2. Try to send the ping request and check if there is internet connected actively available. This can be done by sending a ping command on the command prompt.
  3. Check the password setting of the Active Directory.
  4. Make sure you have not selected the option to work offline from the task menu.

That icon on the bottom right corner of your screen indicates whether your computer is online or offline. If your computer is online, you probably may see “Connected”. It means your computer is currently connected to the internet and your internet connection is working. If your computer is offline, like in this case, you will see “Disconnected”. It means your computer is currently not connected to the internet.

If your computer is connected to the internet but you are seeing this message at the status bar, it indicates your internet connection is not working. If your computer is connected to a router, you probably want to restart it. Turn off the router and disconnect it from the power for about 10 to 20 seconds or longer.

While disconnected from the power, press the power button to drain the remaining current on the device. This allows the router to have a power cycle. After this, plug it back in and turn it on. See if Office Outlook is back online and you see “Connected” or the “Disconnected” status has disappeared.

If you still have a connection problem, try checking the network cable at the back of your CPU. Disconnect the network cable from the network port then connect it back. See if this works. If the problem continues, contact your ISP. Try opening your web browser and visit a website to see if the connection is restored.

If connection is back but Office Outlook still displays “Disconnected”, just restart the email client.
