Hello, I have a desktop computer about 2 years old, and within the past month or so, it runs very slow. I have cleaned and scanned for viruses and it did find some and quarantined them, but it still runs slow, to the point it is difficult for me to get my work done. Any suggestions as to what I can do to remedy this? Thanks.

It is advisable to try following these strategies to solve your issue

First of all, check whether your virus guard is up to date and if not, update it & scan the computer once again.

Also, try installing the latest updates of the software if available.

Perform disk defragment & disk clean ups regularly.

Open Task Manager and kill all the  programs running.

Uninstall & delete if there are any unnecessary software or files saved.Â

Check whether the GPU is free from dust and the fans are functioning properly.

Then go to Advanced settings & reduce the refresh rate to 70-75 and increase the resolution to the maximum level possible. Now, restart the computer.

If all these steps fail to solve the problem, seek for technical assistance since a full or partial replace of some parts might be needed.
