After inserting and using a disk into the cd-rom I tried to make it out from there but I can not do this. The little switch works after pushing 3 times. How to fix the problem?

Hey Aiko Femie!

If your CD Rom does not eject after pressing the eject button then there must be some issue with your CD Rom. It is not any software or windows problem. The belts inside the CD Rom are not working properly.

You must consult your hardware supplier. Or if your CD Rom is in warranty then you can claim the warranty of your CD Rom. They will fix the problem for you and your belts will start work properly. I hope your CD Rom will work properly after you gave it a proper check.

Thanks so much.

This seems to be hardware issue with your optical drive. You must do the following things to get this problem rectified.

·         Try ejecting it from command (Right click on drive icon and click EJECT) if it works fine then eject hard button is faulty.

·         Use some sort of pin to insert in a small hole adjacent to eject button, this will work in all cases even if there is no power.

·         Apply some kind of lubricant (WD-40) from outside cover on the button to clean the dust but beware that it could not enter the mechanism of the drive.

If that’s what’s happening to your CD-ROM drive, unfortunately, there’s no way you can fix it because, most of the time, the problem there is the little button that you press to eject the disc. That small button needs to be replaced but I’m not sure where you can buy that kind of switch.

CD-ROM drive

If you know an electronic shop that sells the same kind of push-button switch, you can probably buy one. But still before you can replace that button it requires a little knowledge about soldering electronic parts. If you don’t know how to solder an electronic device especially small ones it is not possible.

Even if it is hard to eject the disc from the drive, there is still an alternative way aside from pressing the eject button. If the eject button doesn’t work, you can use the small hole near the eject button to eject the disc from inside.

You need to insert a very thin pin on the hole and push it in the same way you press the eject button. There is a small lever in front of the hole inside. When you press the pin the lever will move pushing the disc out. On the other hand, if you don’t want to do this frequently, you should replace your drive with a new one.
