Hi All,

I am using both Linux and windows OS, but mostly I have to use Windows OS. Is it possible to have multiple desktops in Windows Platform in Windows, just like in Linux.

Do I have to install a theme to have such effect or do I have to use any software.

Thanks.

Yes,

John you are right and if you want to do this thing of multiple desktops then it is necessary for you to install new themes which contain this type of thing. Actually Windows operating system doesn't give this type of opportunity of multiple desktops but the way is only that you can search out on the world wide web, may be there is a theme related to your want and if available then you can install it and run it.

Also there is some other desktop software which works like multiple desktop images or tasking so you can also download it from the Internet. Those software are not the same as themes. Themes are different and those software are different thing.

CHEERS.

Windows doesn't have any built-in Virtual Desktop or anything resembling the workspaces in Linux.

To get that effect you will have to install 3rd party software.

Fortunately, there are a few free applications that can give you that multiple desktop effect that you want.

1. VirtuaWin works for Windows 95 until Windows 7. It is a virtual desktop manager for Windows.

2. Dexpot () works on windows 95 up to Windows 7. It is another virtual desktop manager that has a more attractive interface than VirtuaWin.

3. Virtual Dimensio works on Windows 95 up to Windows XP only.

4. Finestra Virtual Desktops is yet another desktop manager that seems to have great reviews.
