Hi there,

I have been using Galaxy S3 for a while with sync to Gmail, after getting Google Nexus 7, I tried accessing my contacts from Gmail and am getting multiple contacts and others are missing, How to I sort my contacts? How do I get all contacts without multiples?

Hi Avery,

The reason as to why some of your contacts are missing is because some of them were left in the Galaxy S3 that you were using. To sort this, using your Google Nexus 7, turn on synchronization from your Gmail account. Touch the account that has those contacts that you want to sync with your phone making sure you do not repeat the contacts that are already there. You can then delete the contacts that appear in multiples so that you are left with single contacts. I hope this information helps.

If you are using Google Mail or Gmail and you are getting duplicates with your contacts when you synchronize your phone with your Gmail account, here’s a workaround. First, download and install the Gmail app on your phone. Once installed, on your phone, go to “Settings” then “Accounts and Sync.” Enable the “Accounts and Sync” service.

Next, select your Gmail account from the email accounts setup. Make sure you enabled the “Sync Contacts” option. Next, hit the “Sync now” button then wait until all phone contacts have been synchronized with your Gmail account. After this, on your computer, log in to your Gmail account using a web browser then click the “Google apps” icon located just right to the left of your Gmail profile then select “Contacts.”

This is the place where all the contacts on your Android phone are stored. If you need more information, head down to Sync Google Contacts with your mobile device or computer.
