When i attached Sony Player with computer, the  Windows XP detected it and in “my computer” Memory Card was showed by XP, but when i checked memory card in “my computer” the memory card was empty. Hi Goddfrey,

There are things to consider why you cannot see your files even you can access your memory card.
 Please see the details below:
1. Virus infection – It may be the cause of a virus or malware why your files is missing.
2. Corrupted files  – It may be the cause of a virus or malware why your files is missing,
3. Memory card – It may be your memory card is defective.
4. Hidden files  – It may be the files in your memory card was set into hidden files.

Please follow this procedures to disable hidden files:

  1. You must click start menu
  2. select My Computer
  3. select TOOLS TAB
  4. click Folder Options
  5. click VIEW TAB then select SHOW hidden files.
  6. Now, check your files on My Computer then right click the folder and on General tab, uncheck hidden then apply button followed by OK button.

Hi Goddfrey,

  • I think you have a compatibility issues. Windows XP can manage the files on the memory card from your MP5 Sony Player.
  • In this case, you can try to check if this memory card from MP% Sony Player will work for other computer with the same Operating system

Hope it helps!
