Hi there.  Mozilla automatically installed the Microsoft Lync plugin for Firefox.  I now cannot use Firefox as it always crashes when launched since the plug-in.  Could this be a virus?  Please help.  Thanks in advance.

Hi Donna,

MS LYNC is not a virus. It is a very powerful communicator used commonly by Enterprise businesses for an easier way to collaborate with groups. The plugin installed in your Firefox is responsible to start all components such as audio, video etc… when a meeting invitation is activated. So if you believe that this Plugin causes your issue then all you have to do is disable the Plugin. Reinstalling the browser is a good idea but it will save you more time if you just disable the plugin. Follow the steps below:

1. First you open FireFox on Safe Mode.
a. Hold Shift Key while opening FireFox
2. Go to Tools > Add-ons > Plugins
3. Disable Plugin > Restart Browser.

Hope this helps!
