When I tried to update by sound card, my monitor keeps turning off on start up. I tried in safe mode but there was no problem at all. I only had a problem with my sound card but i don't think it affects my monitor when i updated the driver of my sound card.

Is the computer still running even if the monitor is turned off? Try doing a system restore point in safe mode. I think there's a conflict going around when you install your sound driver to your video card. The best solution there is not to update your sound driver when its still working fine so do a restore point where things are running normally.Â

That is a very odd problem. The sound card is a totally different hardware with the video card where the monitor is plugged. Updating the sound card driver should not affect the video card or the display in anyway. If you replaced the sound card in the slot on the motherboard with a new one, it still should not affect the display of your computer.
If your screen turns off on startup, check that the video cable of the monitor is plugged in securely on the video port at the back of the CPU. If this doesn’t work, try connecting a different monitor if you have a spare. If this doesn’t work even after connecting a different monitor, the problem is probably with the video card.
If you are using a dedicated video card, try transferring it to another available slot. Also, try cleaning the pins of the video card if transferring it to another slot is not an option. Remove the video card from the slot then get a pencil eraser. Rub the eraser to the gold contact pins of the video card and do it on both sides.
Finish it off with a dry clean cloth. Insert it back to the slot then see if it works.
