Hello there,

Microsoft unveiled their latest Surface Pro 3, known as the tablet that can replace a laptop. Why is it called that? What's on the Surface Pro 3 that were not featured on the older Surface Pro models? What is its OS and does it come with pre-loaded apps? When is the projected release date?

Microsoft Surface Pro 3, a tablet or a laptop?

The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 tablet is a in fact a laptop in its own meaning.

It runs on the Windows 8.1 operating system, something that a laptop can do also, it can be equipped with a keyboard to add typing functionality for documents and other office requirements, just like a laptop has, and you can also do whatever you need, from reading, to working, to writing, watching video, listening to music, playing games and even browsing on it. There is nothing this model can't do that a laptop can.

The tablet features a sharp display and simplistic design, it can be upgraded with a huge typing cover, with a reasonable battery life it passes any laptop standard without problems.

The screen resolution is 2160×1440 pixels on a 12 inch touchscreen, giving you a clearer image than any laptop with an 16 inch screen, and on both sides it features 5 MP cameras capable of recording 1080 videos.

Its additional features include a 1.9 GHz Core i5 (dual-core) CPU, an Intel Graphics 4400 graphics processor, 8 GB of RAM, a 256GB SSD, on USB port, one DisplayPort, one microSD card reade and also a headphones jack. It's connectivity options include Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 transfer ability.

The battery life on a regular non-harsh usage can keep up to 6 hours, and it's also much more cheaper than an iPad and also more powerful, giving you a reasonably priced tablet built for portability and production.
