Microphone malfunction after installing Windows 7

After installing Windows 7 on my Acer Aspire Timeline laptop, my sound/microphone stopped working.

There is no problem with audio but my microphone was affected.

While using Skype, an error message appeared as follows: "Microphone Problem: There's a problem with the microphone inside your computer.”

I am sure my microphone was okay until I installed Windows 7.

Please help me fix this technical problem.

Thanks

This problem is due to improper installation.

You might have not installed the correct driver.

Solution:

  • Right click on the computer go to “Manage” and click on “Device manager”.
  • It will show you devices you have installed go to “Sound, Video And Game Controller” and right click on it. Now Update driver searches automatically or download Audio driver from ACER site
