MediaMonkey comes up with error message

Can anyone help me with this Media Monkey software error message? I usually use MediaMonkey to play my audio and at times my video files also.

MediaMonkey Version 3.1.1.1261 is installed on Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit OS.  I have been using this software without an issue for the past one year.  Yesterday when I tried to play music it comes up with an access violation error message.

MediaMonkey : Access violation at address 75D6ACF2 in module’ msvcrt.dll’. Read of address 00000000.

I tried to add a few audio files to my playlist and it remains empty. It comes up with the same error message even when I try to close the MediaMonkey application. But it starts playing once I reboot my machine and open it back again. Anyone aware of this error message ?

Hey Mr. Brian Edwards,

  • It sometimes happens when Media Monkey needs to update to a newer version.  Chances are that the file you wanted to play is not in the format Media Monkey allows to open.
  • Check the format of the file you were playing. Secondly, if possible remove Media Monkey, by going to the control panel > add and remove programs > highlight Media Monkey > hit Delete. After deleting Media Monkey download the new version and start the installation.

Hope this works.

Perhaps you need a new version of MediaMonkey, because the old one is not accepting the files you want to play. First check if the format of the files is accepted by MediaMonkey, and if it is try to install a new version after uninstalling the current version.
