I had a malware in my computer but ever since I got rid of it, my internet speeds have become extremely low. I usually have a 45mbps connection but the most that I can see is 5mbps. The other connected devices work fine but mine does not. Before I removed the malware, it was fast but now it is worse. I need your help

If you are sure that you have successfully removed the virus from your computer, download and install Sophos Virus Removal Tool. This is to make sure that there are really no viruses lurking on your computer. The tool is recommended for use on an already infected computer. The tool can also fix the errors brought about by the virus when it infected your computer.

When installing, don’t disconnect from the internet because the installation requires internet access. Repeat the scan until it no longer detects a virus on your system. Try your speed again after the scan and see if there is an improvement. If the problem doesn’t change and your internet is still slow than normal, try downloading TCP Optimizer.

I used it before to improve the internet speed on my computer. Once downloaded, double-click the file to launch it. The application doesn’t require any installation. In General Settings tab, move the slider to your desired speed. Select your network adapter under “Network Adapter selection”. In “Choose settings”, select Optimal then click “Apply changes”. Follow the instructions after that. See image.
