I'm looking for a software to make a technical documentation for knowledge bases and transfer them to XML.  I need to easily customize the content to support the needs of my users.  Can Madcap Flare do this and add index words?  Need suggestions.  Thanks.

There are several of them out there.

The best thing is to use Google to find out.

Try Atlassian.

You will find it useful if you want to write a technical manual such as a user's guide, administrator's guide, installation guide, and so on. This page is a quick-start guide to creating a wiki space for technical documentation.

Hi Conrad,

Flare works in XML for the source files and outputs various formats.

As far as adding index keywords, there are several different ways to do that in Flare. Here’s the easiest: just highlight a word or put your cursor in it, hit F10, add it’s added as an index keyword. We also offer a knowledge base template.
