LSP Install Error in Avira Internet Security 2012

I’m attempting to upgrade my anti-virus to Avira Internet Security 2012 on my PC.

Initially I installed Avira Internet Security 2012 on top of Avira Premium Security Suite (Version 10) but received the error below.

 

Setup of Avira Internet Security 2012:

The installation of the LSP failed. Mail Protection and Web Protection therefore cannot be installed. We recommend that you repair the LSP stack and then reinstall Mail Protection and Web Protection via the user-defined installation.

This led me to uninstalling the software and trying to install Avira Internet Security 2012 for a second time. During the second attempt, I received the same error. Even when trying to complete a repair install I continued to get the same message.

How can I fix this issue so I can install Avira?

Hi,

You can try this way once open command prompt, try to execute the below command

netsh winsock reset. 

Follow the instructions what it says. Then reboot the system and try to re-install the software. 

If this doesn't work try to download DDS tool you can download it by searching in Google. Try to run the tool and follow the instructions what it says. Once it scans all the files in your system it will generate two files. Send those files in the next attachment so that we can analyze more on this. The file names will be dds.txt and attach.txt post these two logs.
