I am getting an error in my Windows Defender saying that virus and spyware are not updated. The error is windows defender error code 0x8024402c. Please help me in solving this issue. I have no idea about the occurrence of this.
Follow these steps to solve this error:
1. Open your internet browser.
2. Under“Tools,” select the “Internet Options.”
3. Then, click on the tab “Connections.”
4. After that, click on the “LAN Settings.”
5. Click on the Advanced button then.
6.Delete any entry present in the Exceptions section.
Clear proxy cache after you finish these steps.
If you receive error code “0x8024402c” and you have a problem updating the virus definitions of Windows Defender, try changing your computer’s DNS to Google’s public DNS servers. Download DNS Jumper and unpack the ZIP file (.zip). Double-click “DnsJumper.exe” to launch DNS Jumper. Next, click “Flush DNS” on the left pane to purge the existing DNS resolver cache.
After this, select your network adapter under “Select Network Adapter” dropdown list. Next, under “Choose a DNS Server”, select “Google Public DNS” from the dropdown list then click “Apply DNS” on the left pane.
Exit DNS Jumper then restart the computer. After booting, update Windows Defender again. If this doesn’t work, try downloading the virus definitions manually. Go to Security intelligence updates for Windows Defender Antivirus and download the virus definitions update specific to your operating system. Once downloaded, just double-click the EXE file (mpam-fe.exe, mpam-feX64.exe, or mpas-fe.exe) to launch it and update Windows Defender manually.
